How y'all doing today? It's a beautiful day out, what do y'all have planned for today?
Scripture For Today:
Luke 13: 6-9
And He began telling this parable: “A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any. 7 And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree [a]without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’ 8 And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; 9 and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.’” -NASB
I love the MSG version as well:
6-7 Then he told them a story: “A man had an apple tree planted in his front yard. He came to it expecting to find apples, but there weren’t any. He said to his gardener, ‘What’s going on here? For three years now I’ve come to this tree expecting apples and not one apple have I found. Chop it down! Why waste good ground with it any longer?’ 8-9 “The gardener said, ‘Let’s give it another year. I’ll dig around it and fertilize, and maybe it will produce next year; if it doesn’t, then chop it down.’”
I love this parable of the fig tree, I believe It shows that we are on borrowed time and God is near.... God gives each of us another day of life, another chance to get it together, God Is seeking our repentance each day, however he doesn't wait forever, he grants us this time to come back to him for true restoration and repentance, how long will we make him wait to see fruit on us?
Praying for you sis!
Much Love
